H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak is a prominent Emirati business leader who oversees Abu Dhabi’s cultural and tourism growth agenda, and a Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

In his role as Chairman of Miral, Al Mubarak has guided the elevation and promotion of Yas Island, Abu Dhabi into a top global destination for entertainment, leisure and business. An ambitious and visionary leader, Al Mubarak is focussed on driving the company’s brand footprint into new markets, forging new partnerships and evolving Miral’s business model to harness innovation and the commercialisation of new products and services.

Al Mubarak is spearheading Miral’s strategic aspiration to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s long-term development as a sustainable, diversified and globally integrated economy. Under his leadership, Miral was appointed as Destination Manager of Saadiyat Island in 2022, the cultural heart of the Emirate and a regional beacon in the cultural tourism ecosystem.

A prominent advocate of interweaving cultural diversity and social cohesion, Al Mubarak holds a number of Chairman roles within the Emirate, reflecting his desire to integrate arts and creativity into the fabric of Abu Dhabi society. His current board positions include: Chairman of Aldar Properties PJSC, Aldar Academies, Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, Image Nation Abu Dhabi, Louvre Abu Dhabi and twofour54.

In 2019, Al Mubarak became one of the founding members of The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, an independent body of religious leaders, educational scholars and cultural figures whose purpose is to inspire the values of human fraternity among all people around the world.

He was included in Apollo’s “40 Under 40 Middle East” 2019 series, a prestigious award from one of the world’s most respected art magazines.

Al Mubarak is a graduate of Northeastern University (USA), with a double major in Economics and Political Science.

MOHAMED ABDALLA AL ZAABI

Group Chief Executive Officer

Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, the visionary leader and the Group Chief Executive Officer of Miral, has been a driving force in transforming the company into a powerhouse within the leisure, entertainment and tourism sector. Joining Miral in 2015, Al Zaabi’s strategic insight and unwavering dedication have propelled Miral to the forefront of the industry.

Under his leadership, Miral’s portfolio on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi has thrived into a globally renowned entertainment, leisure and business destination. For over 13 years, Miral has conceived, created, developed, operated and managed immersive destinations and experiences that attract visitors from around the world to create unforgettable memories, accelerating the realisation of the Emirate’s economic diversification.

Miral has invested in multiple mega projects on Yas Island and Abu Dhabi, successfully forging key business partnerships with some of the world’s most recognisable leisure and entertainment brands, including Ferrari, SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. and Warner Bros.

Al Zaabi’s leadership played a key role in shaping Yas Island’s destination strategy, which has contributed to the Emirate’s consistent growth. By introducing new attractions and experiences, Yas Island has delivered strong growth in visitors – In 2023, the destination recorded 34 million visits, reflecting a 38% increase from 2022.

Building on Yas Island’s successful destination management, Miral was appointed to oversee destination management for Saadiyat Island in 2022 and has since succeeded in elevating global awareness of the destination – in 2023 the number of visits to Saadiyat Island grew by 44% compared to 2022.

Before joining Miral, Al Zaabi entered project and construction development in 2008, when he joined Aldar Properties PJSC. He worked across various business units, including as the Head of Integrated Technologies, Director of Estates and Director of Strategic Investments. Prior to that, he worked in a subsidiary of Emirates Advanced Investment as Head of Integrated Technologies.

His current board positions include Chairman of Miral Destinations, Miral’s trade and promotion subsidiary for Yas Island and Saadiyat Island, and Member of the Board of Directors at Miral Experiences, which operates a diverse portfolio of world-class and award-winning immersive experiences and attractions in Abu Dhabi. As one of the most influential people in the industry, he was recognised in the top ten of Forbes Middle East’s Top 100 Travel & Tourism Leaders for 2024.

Al Zaabi was the first Emirati to receive the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certificate, one of the IT industry’s most prestigious certifications. He also holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD, an MSc in Strategic Project Planning from Heriot-Watt University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from UAE University.

Under his leadership, Miral’s portfolio continues to evolve, reimagining visitor experiences and pushing the boundaries of unforgettable experiences.
